Try to Initiate

If you’re familiar with the topic of discussion it’s always advisable to initiate the discussion. If the topic is not familiar wait for someone to initiate that will help you to get some idea. You can still contribute by giving opinions and countering other person’s points. The most important thing is not to remain silent the employer won’t be able to evaluate you if you’re silent.

Be a good listener

When it comes to group discussions people always thinks Group discussions are only about speaking .Although speaking in GD’s are good it is important to listen keenly to what other candidates says.Listening will helps you by giving you new ideas about the topic.In addition to that you it gives you the time to plan your next response.

Stay on Topic

One of the common things in Gd is people tends to go off the topic when the discussion gets heated. Employers who are in middle of the discussion will notice this before in anyone in the group. It is better to be quiet for a while and raise your voice after gathering your thoughts and make your point.

Be a Team Player

This is one of the primary traits that employers hope to see during an group discussion. As a team player your ability to lead and play along in the team is measured in GD. A team player will allow other member to express their opinions and be fair to everyone . If a candidate is being aggressive, shout on top of others and not allows other to people to speak , there is a good chance that they will not make it past the group discussion round.

While it is important to make substantial amount of points and leave a mark on employers it is important that those points makes sense. Providing with good statistics or examples to back your points will prompts the employers to keep an eye on you.
